EPA And Hybrid Car Ratings: What You Need To Know

EPA And Hybrid Car Ratings: What You Need To Know

When it comes to hybrid cars, they’re probably the highest selling items in the car industry today. It’s only expected, though, considering the ratings that the EPA or the Environmental Agency are giving them. Charged with protecting and safeguarding the natural environment, it’s the EPA’s ratings that really matter when it comes to choosing the right hybrid vehicle to buy.

What It’s All About?

Wondering what EPA has to do with it? Most hybrids these days that are for sale to the general public have to have an EPA rating and it is this rating that will tell a consumer just how much fuel is saved when it comes to a hybrid’s mileage.

These ratings are usually translated by the consumer into fuel efficiency and thus monetary savings. But more important than that, the EPA determines which cars are the most fuel-efficient, which ones have the least amount of carbon monoxide emissions, and therefore which ones are the fittest for the environment in general. Of course, this does not mean that gas-powered cars are not allowed on the road. Basically, the EPA ratings on hybrids help consumers make the right choice in car purchases.

But What Is It Really All About?

The EPA ratings system has always been around. In fact, at some point the ratings had to change with the introduction of hybrid cars. The EPA has mandatory fuel-economy tests that have to be carried out on all cars, old and new, sold in the United States.

These tests are conducted on about 15% of all cars. One of these tests is on fuel economy which involves city and highway cycles to see the result on what kind of usage cars have when it comes to fuel consumption. For the year 2008, these tests have changed in many ways and the EPA has revised testing methods because of the introduction of hybrid cars.

Hybrid car ratings are now calculated using a dynamometer and these results will be shown on labels that will be attached to the vehicles to show what fuel economy estimates there are per model. These ratings make it easier for the consumer to pick the most fuel-efficient hybrid car.

These days, it’s no big secret that hybrid cars are the most fuel-efficient and it’s one of the reasons why these cars are becoming more popular. But fuel efficiency is a different story with all the model cars that are coming out of the assembly line from various car manufacturers. Some of the most fuel efficient includes the Ford Focus with an EPA rating of 24 miles in the city/35 miles on the highway to the gallon, the Honda Fit with a rating of 33 miles in the city/38 miles on the highway, and the Honda Civic with 30 miles in the city/38 miles on the highway. And these ratings are more different if those cars are automatics.

It’s these easy ratings that help consumers make the right choice, helping them to pick cars that suit their lifestyles. It is exactly why the EPA conducts its tests and comes up with hybrid car ratings, which is fitting since more people are now making the switch to the hybrid car.

Reduce Dependence On Foreign Oil with HHO Gas

HHO gas cars are making the news and one has to wonder if this type of technology can reduce our dependence on foreign oil. HHO gas car kits are available online and are claiming an increase in gas mileage up to 100%. When you do a little more research it appears that 15 - 40% seems more typical.

You could always purchase a hybrid car but these cars are not cheap costing thousands of dollars.

With oil consumption increasing globally and through 2009 it is expected that consumption in the U.S. should increase about 0.8 percent as younger drivers come on board. As third word countries oil consumption increases it will put a further burden on current supplies. The good news is that current supplies will continue to output more barrels per day and add to the current supply so overall this effect will be that supplies will not continue to get any tighter. It is expected that current oil and gas prices will be somewhat stable through 2009. Even with gasoline prices remaining about the same it still put s burden on many drivers who have a limited budget. This will leave many drivers looking for alternative ways to increase gas mileage or cut back on driving and investigate other methods of improving gas mileage such as HHO gas car kits.

With current government figures showing that about 60% of our crude is imported even a minimal increase in gas mileage of 15% would be enough to tip the scales and reduce foreign oil imports. Couple HHO technology with other hybrid car technologies and it would be very possible to seriously reduce our dependence on foreign oil. It would also have an impact on global warming due to the reductions in emissions.

With gas prices increasing every time you fill up many people are looking for alternatives to save fuel. HHO gas car kits are becoming more popular as an alternative energy source. Many call an HHO cell a hydrogen fuel cell or hydrogen on demand system. HHO gas is converted from water, a catalyst, and electrical current. Water for gas is often the claim. This would be great to take an existing technology to convert your current car to a water burning vehicle.

Water as gas has been known to help keep an engine clean less carbon buildups, better emissions including an increase in horsepower and less trips to the gas pump. Keep in mind though that it is only being use as a supplement that is introduced into the intake manifold and burned along with gasoline or diesel. In many cases HHO gas cars are still considered experimental.

A typical HHO gas hydrogen on demand fuel cell may do well on a small four cylinder engine. As the size of the engine increases in liters it is not uncommon to see kits or experimenters use more cells. I have seen kits for 8 cylinder five liter engines with 4 to 6 HHO fuels cells. In all it also depends on the efficiency of the hydrogen cell on how many may be used.

There are many forums online that focus on the use of HHO gas hybrids and the use of homemade fuel cells. These fuels cells have been installed on cars, truck, motorcycles even lawnmowers. Most HHO or browns gas forums focus on creating more gas from a HHO fuel cell. With as much interest and the buzz online concerning hydrogen on demand systems it is no wonder that homemade HHO gas generators have become popular with do it yourself hobbyists and experimenters. Home made HHO gas car kits can often be manufactured for under a $100 and installed in less than an hour and removed in minutes. These conversions do not require complex modifications.

Can Cars Really Run On Water?

Water CarThey say you will be amazed by the new technology for running your car engine on water. Yet is it just a scam? Can a car run on water alone? Yes, but the technology is so new it may be years away before you can own a completely water run automobile. Inventor Stan Meyer has created a functioning water run engine, yet the road to production is very steep and dangerous.

The release of a water burning engine would destroy some of the largest companies in the world. There are many people who would rather see Mr Meyer dead then bring his invention to the world.

With engines run on water alone still being years away, there is an alternative. The technology exists today to create a hybrid engine benefiting from the release of hydrogen from water. Conversion kits are now available on the Internet.

Some of the benefits include:

Easy to Use

Works with almost all engines

Fuel Economy of 25% to 70%

Less polluting emissions

Easy to understand step by step procedure

Parts can be easily found

You don’t have to worry about safety, as there is no large volume of hydrogen to deal with. The hydrogen gas is extracted as needed.

The use of water is to supplement the gasoline. One quart of water is able to provide 1800 gallons of HHO gas. This amount of gas not only will vastly increase you cars fuel savings but also last for almost four months.

This appears to be the perfect win-win situation. You save on fuel costs, your car runs better and cleaner and you make a major impact on improving the environment. Conversion kit information can be found at www.exchangewaterforgas.com

A Good Guys Way to Save Money by Improving Gas Mileage

Save on GasAs gas prices continue to increase you may be wondering how to get better gas mileage. If you are finding ways to increase gas mileage or improve fuel efficiency there are several do it yourself solutions that you may want to consider as part of your standard car maintenance.

A tune up could get you better gas mileage up to 20% or even more if a bad oxygen sensor is discovered. This is an extreme example but if your engine is idling roughly or hesitating and spiting smoke out the muffler then you should and get a engine diagnostic tune up and this could increase gas mileage and possibly extend the life of your engine saving hundreds or thousands of dollars in maintenance.

Checking your tire pressure could save money. Some people overlook this maintenance and it is best checked monthly. By keeping your tires at recommended pressure as outlined in your owners manual you can get better gas mileage of 2-3%. The net results is you could save hundreds of dollars of more because when your tires are inflated properly it also extends the life of your tires.

Driving habits could have a negative affect on gas mileage. Driving habits can include finding the fastest way to work or the route that is the most direct and has the least amount of stops to your destination. When asking yourself how to increase gas mileage this is a major factor. Check free online mapping services that shows you direct routes.

Do you use your vehicle or car trunk as a free mini storage? For every 100lbs in your vehicle you could be decreasing gas mileage by a percentage point. Some people are so extreme in this extra weight that they may only keep their gas tank filled half the way to reduce weight. Gas weighs about 6.1 pounds per gallon at room temperature. So if your are wondering how to get better gas mileage there are several solutions or methods you can do to help help improve gas mileage.

How To Increase HHO Gas Mileage

Plans for HHO generators can be found all over the Internet. HHO gas is considered experimental and there are forums that discuss gas devises that help increase gas mileage. As gas prices continue to increase you will notice that more gas saving devices and additives will show up in the marketplace.

With gas rising to new levels people are discovering ways to improve gas mileage. Many gasoline additives and devices claim to increase gas mileage. HHO gas is starting to get recognition and is making the news as a possible alternative for supplementing gasoline as a hybrid technology.

This hybrid technology can be used with diesel or gas engines and some are using it with success in other types of engines that or running on fossil fuels. You may recall propane conversions on cars and truck well this is similar but the modifications are few, less costly. This DIY HHO gas kit can be easily be removed and leaves little trace of its installation.

Most entrepreneurs who are constructing HHO generators from plans are claiming gas mileage increases of 15 - 40% some are suggesting more. When building a water for gas kit or HHO fuel cell you should be able to construct one in a few hours when you have all the parts.

Plans for HHO generators are can easily be followed by most people and can be considered a weekend project. Depending on the plans most of the parts can be found around the house, garage or around town.

When you have completed a HHO fuel cell consider testing it before placing it on the engine to make sure it is producing HHO gas. Often there is plenty of room under the hood of a car, truck or vehicle. In some cases more HHO cells are sometimes added to further increase gas mileage.

Fuel Economy Tips for your SUV

suvWhen you think about a vehicle specified to optimize fuel economy, the SUV does not necessarily jump to mind right away! Quite the contrary, they are heavier on gas in general (at least that is the perception of most, including drivers, fellow road-users and owners).

Managing the costs and rising prices of gas at the pumps is a top priority for most these days. You just have to look at some of the automakers struggling in this category to attract any consumer interest right now, due to the low SUV fuel economy value proposition they provide. For most (even prospective buyers) drivers of SUV’s the comforts afforded and the cost you have to fork out in terms of less miles per gallon or lower fuel economy is just not worth it anymore. It hurts at the pump to fill up your SUV.

Optimizing your SUV fuel economy is no longer a luxury, it is a necessity to avoid the pain at the pump. How specifically a vehicle or even sport utility is specified out and driven is how you get the best fuel economy overall. You need the best of both these worlds – both design and use to make the most of SUV fuel economy.

Many driving and handling tips in general, will also improve the fuel economy of any other vehicle you drive, but even more-so on the SUV’s.

LEARN MORE ABOUT TOYOTA HYBRIDS: http://www.edmunds.com/insideline/do/Drives/Comparos/articleId=127826 Guy walks into a Toyota dealer — sounds like a joke so far, right? Not quite. Guy walks into a Toyota dealer looking for a 2008 Toyota Prius. He's heard about hybrids for awhile now, and the Prius is one he knows by name. He vaguely recalls some celebrity bragging about taking one to the Academy Awards instead of a limo, and then there was that South Park episode, "Smug Alert" a couple of years back. And didn't Al Gore's own son make headlines for getting busted doing 100 mph in his Prius? Something like that. Beyond the hype, Guy's never really given hybrid cars much thought, much less gone looking for one. And even though he can afford a decent-size car or SUV, the price of gasoline has him looking for fuel economy in a serious way. And there on the showroom floor, Guy sees a 2008 Toyota Camry Hybrid for almost the same amount of money as a Prius. Now what?

DOES PORSCHE GET IT RIGHT WITH THE PANAMERA? FIND OUT AT: http://www.edmunds.com/insideline/do/GeneralFuture/articleId=130326?tid=edmunds.il.futurelanding.latestnews..3.* Our spy shooters have caught the 2010 Porsche Panamera once again, this time during some hot-weather testing in Death Valley, California. And once again, the upcoming four-door Porsche has left us scratching our heads over its design. Incorporating elements from both the 911 and the Cayenne, the Panamera looks like it's having a hard time pulling off the whole "four-door coupe" idea. The high window line makes it look bulky in profile, while the massive hatchback window does little to slim down the big rear end. We'll assume for now that the car will look far more elegant when all the tape comes off, but for now the Panamera looks like it could take over from the Cayenne as the least attractive Porsche in the Stuttgart company's lineup. Three direct-injection gasoline engines are expected to be offered from the start of North American sales, which now look likely to begin in late 2009. At the bottom end of the scale will be a 300-horsepower 3.6-liter V6 sourced from Volkswagen. Positioned above that will be the Panamera S, with a Porsche-developed 4.8-liter V8 that makes 405 hp. Rounding out the lineup will be the Panamera Turbo, challenging the BMW M5 and Mercedes-Benz CLS63 AMG with a turbocharged 520-hp 4.8-liter V8. Porsche has also confirmed it will add a gasoline-electric hybrid version of the Panamera to its lineup in 2010. It is expected to receive an adapted version of the full parallel-hybrid system that Porsche is developing in cooperation with Volkswagen for the second-generation Cayenne and Touareg. Average fuel economy, Porsche claims, will top 25 mpg. The entry-level V6 is expected to be sold exclusively in rear-wheel-drive guise. The V8-powered models are set to have an adapted version of the Cayenne's Haldex-style four-wheel-drive system with multiplate clutch. Among the gearbox choices will be a standard six-speed manual and an optional six-speed automatic. Prices in Europe are expected to start at around 5,000 for the Panamera V6, ranging up to 5,000 for the Panamera Turbo. Sticker prices on the U.S. models could be slightly lower when it goes on sale in late 2009.

CHECK OUT THE X6 HYBRID SPY ARTICLE: http://www.edmunds.com/insideline/do/GeneralFuture/articleId=129486?tid=edmunds.il.futurelanding.latestnews..4.* First shown as a concept at the 2007 Frankfurt Auto Show, the 2010 BMW X6 Hybrid is now headed for production. Far from a fuel-sipping economy car, this gasoline-electric hybrid is designed to take the edge off fuel costs without giving up much in the way of SUV practicality or performance. Prototypes spotted in Death Valley reveal few significant styling changes from the recently introduced X6 other than an obvious bulge in the hood. Subsequent photos show a maze of electrical connections beneath the protruding sheet metal. All the extra hardware is necessary to control what's expected to be a two-mode hybrid system similar to what's found in GM's current Tahoe and Escalade Hybrid SUVs. BMW partnered with GM and Daimler in the development of the system. The two-mode system essentially combines electric motors with a sophisticated automatic transmission and traditional gasoline engine. It is able to provide pure electric power like a Prius, but most of the time it's a mix of both gasoline and electric power. A fuel mileage improvement of around 10-15 percent is about all you can expect given the added weight of the hybrid system's batteries combined with the X6's already substantial curb weight. With full production of the V8-powered X6 just now starting to ramp up to full speed, the introduction of the 2010 BMW X6 ActiveHybrid (as BMW calls it) is probably at least a year away. Expect a substantial price bump, one that could put this hybrid BMW's base price in the ,000 range. So much for saving money on gas.

http://www.edmunds.com/insideline/do/Drives/FirstDrives/articleId=125573 Honda knows the difference between revision and improvement, and you can see the evidence in the 2009 Honda Pilot. It looks different, only the same. Or maybe it's the same, only different. But what you can't see are the dozens and dozens of places within this utility package where the Honda engineers have fiddled with the details. It's easy to imagine the Honda engineers swarming over the 2009 Honda Pilot, relentlessly improving space-efficiency, utility, fuel economy and performance. It is the Honda Way, the thorough refinement of a mechanical device into a form that is supremely functional, pure and simple. Only these particular Honda engineers are a bunch of guys from Ohio at Honda R&D Americas, and they've tried to make the 2009 Honda Pilot into the right kind of crossover for Americans.

LEARN MORE ABOUT CROSSOVERS: http://www.edmunds.com/insideline/do/Drives/Comparos/articleId=128367?tid=edmunds.il.home.photopanel..3.* We keep a couple seven-passenger crossover SUVs in our long-term test fleet and they're indispensable for carting around kids, terriers and lawn furniture. Of course, we still crack the obvious jokes. We'll tell you that these are minivans with hinged doors, SUVs trail-rated for the Starbucks drive-thru, tall wagons that think they're too good to be called tall wagons. But there's nothing superficial or irrational about crossover SUVs like the 2009 Honda Pilot, 2008 Mazda CX-9 or 2008 Toyota Highlander. All three make good on the crossover promise of a vast interior, easy maneuverability and decent fuel economy. Maybe you're aghast that anyone would need three rows of seating, but maybe you've never tried to cram three toddlers in Britax car seats into a Honda Accord. We have. You need that third row. But if that third row were in a minivan, you might find yourself filling a prescription for antidepressants. This leaves you to consider a crossover SUV of medium-to-large proportions. Just about any current-day crossover will accomplish the basics, but the diversity of this vehicle genre might catch you off guard. Even though the 2009 Honda Pilot, 2008 Mazda CX-9 and 2008 Toyota Highlander seem to match one another airbag for airbag, their personalities are so different that you can't drive them without taking sides.

2010 Cadillac BRX Crossover Spy Shots
1:26
Views: 18,856
http://www.edmunds.com/insideline/do/GeneralFuture/articleId=126454 After mediocre success with its midsize SRX crossover, Cadillac is refocusing its efforts on the growing compact SUV segment. The 2010 Cadillac BRX, or CTX as it may be called, is a smaller two-row SUV built on a modified version of GM's midsize sedan platform. Caught testing in suburban Detroit, the Cadillac BRX looks as though it will borrow most of its design cues from the Provoq concept shown at the 2008 Detroit Auto Show. The chevron-shaped grille remains largely intact and the overall shape of the greenhouse hasn't changed. With so much camouflage over the rear end it's impossible to tell if the production version of the Cadillac BRX will get the retro tail fin lights in back like the concept; but chances are good. One element of the concept that's guaranteed not to show up is the Provoq's hydrogen fuel-cell drivetrain. In its place will be a couple of gas-burning V6s and traditional automatic transmissions. They'll send power to the front wheels most of the time, with some power sent to the rear wheels on all-wheel-drive models. Entry-level models will most likely come with the 2.8-liter V6 currently used as the base power plant in the European CTS sedan. With only 210 horsepower, the 2.8-liter V6 looks more like a nod to fuel economy above all else. For those who can afford the extra gas, a 3.6-liter V6 will be offered as well. It should deliver closer to 300 hp and use a six-speed automatic transmission. By the time the 2010 Cadillac BRX goes on sale next year, it will have a formidable list of competitors. Similar compact luxury SUVs like the Audi Q5, BMW X3 and Mercedes-Benz GLK-Class will all be competing for the same buyers. Cadillac needs to deliver more than just a more fuel-efficient SUV; it needs to have standout styling as well. Look for the introduction of the final production BRX at next year's Detroit auto show.

2010 Chevrolet Equinox: A New Look

LEARN MORE ABOUT THE 2010 CHEVY EQUINOX: http://www.edmunds.com/insideline/do/GeneralFuture/articleId=125985 As sales of full-size SUVs continue to tank, vehicles like the 2010 Chevrolet Equinox will become more important than ever to Chevy's bottom line. Between its overall size and smaller engine, the Equinox crossover delivers far better fuel mileage than the truck-based Tahoe while still offering a sizable cabin. An often-overlooked model in the Chevrolet lineup, the Equinox should benefit from slightly more recognizable styling this time around. Even with its considerable camouflage, it's clear that the front of the new Equinox will resemble the larger Traverse crossover and Malibu sedan. A shield-style grille is the most obvious change from the current model, although slimmer, more upright headlights will help reshape the front fascia as well. The profile of the 2010 Chevrolet Equinox appears almost unchanged. It has the same overall shape for the most part except for new split-pane rear windows in place of the current model's single-pane design. It also looks as though the area behind the C-pillars has been extended slightly to accommodate a third row of seats. When the Equinox first debuted as a 2005 model, third-row seats were far less common in compact SUVs, but now this feature is required just to stay competitive in this class of utility vehicles. Expect to see seven-passenger seating as an option. Another new option for the Equinox will be a four-cylinder engine. Stiffer fuel economy regulations make this a must, as the current V6-only model is far from the most fuel-efficient vehicle in its class. A six-speed automatic should be offered across the board as well, and all-wheel drive will be optional. Look for the official debut of the 2010 Chevrolet Equinox either late this year or in early 2009, with sales beginning next spring.

LEARN MORE ABOUT THE 2010 GMC TERRAIN: http://www.edmunds.com/insideline/do/GeneralFuture/articleId=130310?tid=edmunds.il.futurelanding.latestnews..5.* Now that the full-size SUV is the scourge of American society, the 2010 GMC Terrain is shaping up as the most important new vehicle in GMC's lineup. Caught testing in Death Valley for the first time, this all-new compact crossover should combine decent mileage with a reasonable size for buyers who are downsizing from larger SUVs. From the looks of this prototype, the 2010 GMC Terrain will use blocklike styling to make up for its smaller stature. The front end looks similar to GMC's Sierra pickups with thick crossbars in the grille and large, rectangular headlights. In profile, a steeply raked windshield keeps the Terrain from looking too boxy, while a small kink in the rear window line adds something unique to the Terrain compared to its larger siblings. With so much camouflage over the rear end, it's hard to make out any details, but the Terrain's overall shape looks similar to the Acadia midsize SUV. Built on a modified version of the Theta platform that currently underpins the Chevrolet Equinox, the GMC Terrain might try to squeeze in three rows of seats. This would make it more competitive with vehicles like the Toyota Highlander, although the Terrain's size means minimal space for anyone sitting in the third row. Like most vehicles in the compact SUV class, the Terrain will most likely offer both front- and all-wheel drive. Which engine will power those wheels is a tough call at this point. Six months ago we would have expected some version of GM's 3.6-liter V6 under the hood, but looming fuel-economy standards could push GMC into using something smaller and more efficient. Expect to see the official unveil of the 2010 GMC Terrain early next year along with the 2010 Cadillac SRX, which will share the same platform. Both vehicles are expected to go on sale by the fall of 2009 at the latest.
Smart car crash test

The Smart car is getting a lot of attention for its small size and style, and now it's earning impressive crash test ratings. In recent Insurance Institute for Highway Safety tests, the 2008 Smart Fortwo, the smallest car for sale in the US market, earned the top rating of good for front and side crash protection. Its seat/head restraints earned the second highest rating of acceptable for protection against whiplash in rear impacts. Smart Fortwo is classified a microcar, meaning it's smaller even than minicars. Weighing about 1,800 pounds, the Smart is more than 3 feet shorter and almost 700 pounds lighter than a Mini Cooper. It weighs about a third as much as one of the heaviest vehicles the Institute has tested, the BMW X5, a midsize SUV. As the price of fuel climbs and tougher federal fuel economy requirements kick in, auto companies are expected to introduce more small vehicles to the market. The Smart is the smallest car the Institute ever has tested. "The big question from consumers is, 'How safe is it?'", says Institute president Adrian Lund. "All things being equal in safety, bigger and heavier is always better. But among the smallest cars, the engineers of the Smart did their homework and designed a high level of safety into a very small package."
If The Oil Runs Out : 1 of 6

The demand for energy has risen relentlessly over the last 150 years in line with industrial development and population growth. And as economies of developing countries like China and India continue to grow, it is predicted demand will rise by a further 50% by 2030. President Bush has already warned the United States that it is too reliant on oil, often from "unstable" countries, and that it must find alternatives. Geologists are searching in Arctic Alaska, around the Falkland Islands and under the oceans for the last remaining sizeable reserves of oil. But what will happen if the fuel crisis is not resolved? ____________________ Blending drama and documentary, the IF series returns with a film investigating a scenario many experts fear will come true. When the cheap oil we depend on starts to run out, we may not be able to take anything for granted any more. DRAMA ______ It is 2016 and the world is in crisis. Global supplies of oil cannot keep up with soaring demand and the price of petrol is going through the roof. The oil companies are in a desperate race to find any remaining oil reserves but what happens if there is no more out there? Combining expert interviews with a fictional story line, the drama-documentary examines how our lives will change as the price of fuel starts to spiral out of control. The film interweaves the story of Jess, an exploration geologist working for an international oil company, with the impact of the fuel crisis on her parents back home in Minneapolis. Instability in the Middle East has caused an "oil shock" and the price of crude is rising day by day. At the start of the film it is around (£45) a barrel - in spring 2006 it is about (£34) - but by the end of the drama the price has climbed to 0 (£85). As the story unfolds, expert interviewees - including Paul Domjan, Former Energy Security Adviser at the US Dept of Defence, oil analyst Matt Simmons and the legendary former Saudi Arabian Minister of Oil, Sheikh Yamani - explain how the crisis will have an effect on every part of our lives. We will not just be paying a lot more - £2.35 per litre or .88 per US gallon - to fill up our cars, we will be charged much higher prices for food, heating and light. Long distance travel will become increasingly expensive and we will even think carefully before using the car for what we used to regard as routine trips to the shops. RECESSION _________ As the economy goes into recession, Jess's parents find their world collapsing around them. Her father is the proud owner of a sport utility vehicle (SUV), but he has to put it up for sale as the running costs are just too high. The daily trip to the shopping mall becomes prohibitively expensive and then, as recession starts to bite, he loses his job as a truck driver with a haulage company. Meanwhile Jess's London-based oil company has been given permission to drill the first wildcat oil well in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge. It is a controversial decision as the vast stretch of tundra in the north east corner of Alaska is the last untouched wilderness in the whole of North America. Back in Minneapolis, Jess's father becomes the victim of a road rage attack, all because of the price of petrol. He is beaten up and seriously injured after an argument in the queue at a gas station. As one of the experts concludes: "It is very important for us to think today about what we can do to move away from the oil age, to build a more environmentally sustainable economy without all the political and environmental problems that come with oil. "And hopefully we'll develop a policy to move away from oil today, rather than waiting until a story like this in 2016 forces us to give up oil."

But the 2009 Kia Borrego manages to offset both arguments against it with competitive pricing, good fuel economy for the class, and a smart interior execution. What are these.... EPA, CARB, HFET, FTP Join BPI Worldwide

Here it is. Here's the real deal. Not some snake oil that other companies are selling trying to capitalize on the high cost of fuel. Do you know what these stand for. The Federal Government can shut you down! Freeze your bank accounts! Sieze all your assests! Eliminate your business! Here is what these stand for. They are the only things that matter if you look to buy or sell this type of product. EPA,(Environmental Protection Agency) CARB, (California Air Resource Board) HFET,(Highway Fuel Economy Test) and FTP ( Federal Trade Procedure) all completed and all proven on 5 different vehicles at 27,000 dollars per test... Any idea how big a deal that is. Well the fact is that so far with all the additives on the market today and all promises and claims being made, this is the only product that has been put through these strict federal tests required to make any claim at all. This product even challenges any product out there to prove that it can exceed their results and they will pay twenty thousand dollars to that company. Seems pretty cocky to me. But hey, the product works. Also it has been proven through these same tests that it absolutely, reduces the harmful emissions that get released into the environment. By a incredible total of more than 16%... That's if you are one of those concerned with greenhouse gas or the global warming issue. Millions of people purchase over the counter products that have never proven anything. Today there are more people purchasing this product than even when they first released it. Why? Because it works. Because they have already been through the regulators fire. Because the country needs it and because after 10 months in an Attorney General's Court of law, they won the right to be in business and sell it... Why? Because it is proven, that is works! Save money on the gas you buy from the United States refineries. If there was a product, that was proven to save you money at the pump by increasing your gas mileage, would you want to know about it? And If this same product was approved to be sold world wide to anyone that drives a car, truck, van, bus, boat, motor home, had a lawn care business, delivery business, limo business,go cart business, trucking business, moving business, or any other business that requires gasoline or diesel fuel. Would you think that might be a pretty good business idea? I thought so too!!!!!! Understanding your SUV and how it works, is designed and functions at its best, will help you make the most of your SUV fuel economy.
You can put your own driving expertise and habits to work to further improve vehicle fuel efficiency and economy on your sports utility vehicle.
Ensuring that your SUV is in tip-top condition is essential as well to make the most of every mile dollar and gallon spent to travel the distances your specialty vehicle, style, luxury, commute and life demands.
Additives, filters and engine tuning can all help to get the most from your SUV in the fuel economy department.

By utilizing a gas credit card with rebate program, you might be able to optimize some of the mileage you ultimately have to travel. There are numerous on-going fuel efficiency improvement efforts by both automakers, niche specialists and owners/drivers alike to get more SUV fuel economy that impacts the bottom line positively rather than negatively. Aspects that affect fuel economy like aerodynamics, power train, chassis, wheels and tires (optimally pressurized and well-fit) and electrical systems, energy demands, drag and more all need to be looked at individually and collectively to make the most of fuel efficiency in the SUV category.

Smart driving can add as much as one tank of gas worth of mileage to your vehicle and distances traveled every other month, if you are consistent and diligent about it.

Alternative Fuel for Cars and Trucks

E85Air pollution is a problem today. One of the major causes of air pollution is the exhaust of cars and trucks that are powered by fossil fuels, and until just a few years ago, every car and truck on every highway in every country in the world was powered by fossil fuel. The scope of the problem is almost incomprehensible, but a serious search for alternative fuel has begun in earnest now and there some really interesting ideas floating around out there.

E85 Ethanol FlexFuel: E85 is the alternative fuel that is being promoted as the best thing since sliced bread, but you need to take a closer look. E85 is a combination of 85% ethanol (derived from corn) and 15% gasoline. The problem is the fuel mileage. Mileage on the highway drops from about 31 miles per gallon using regular unleaded gasoline to a sad 23 miles per gallon using E85, for the same vehicle. This one isn’t
likely to be the answer to the emissions problem.

Grass as fuel: There have been a great many studies done and experiments conducted about producing large quantities of ethanol fuel for cars from grass. Ethanol is well known as having been produced from corn, but it has also been produced from switch grass. Fast-growing switch grass grows abundantly in the U.S., Canada, South America, and Africa, and the results of the studies and experiments are very positive.

Saltwater as fuel: This is a very interesting concept. There are a great many hurdles to overcome here, but it has been discovered that, under the right conditions, saltwater actually burns. This was proven by John Kanzius quite by accident. Kanzius is 63 years old and a former broadcast engineer. Like I said, there are a lot of problems between getting saltwater to burn and putting it in the fuel tanks of automobiles, but it is an idea that is being pursued.

Hydrogen Generator Saves 20% - 90% Fuel and Increases Power

Gorilla Developers has been working on creating a method of extracting Hydrogen from water and an electrolyte solution. This has now ... all » been achieved. See the video to understand the incredible volume of Hydrogen being extracted. How is this achieved? Using 30 amps from your alternator on standard vehicles for the 20-Cell electrolyzer we weave this energy Through an over 40 stainless steel plates which extract the Hydrogen necessary to aid in increased fuel combustion efficiency. What does this mean to me? Your vehicle will have substantially increased fuel combustion. [Most vehiclesonly burn less than 50% of the fuel injected into your cylinder because of a lack of Oxygen and Hydrogen] The lower your mileage directly relates to the lack of your engines efficiency. Increasing the efficiency of the burn provides a requirement of less fuel [less pedal being required to achieve/maintain speed.] Visit our web site and register today. http://www.GetHydroPower.com We seek local sales/support staff and installation locations. Here's the simple math I use to stuff it in the face of "the experts" when they say we're attempting to violate the "Laws" of conservation of energy. Please feel free to use it to stuff it to them too. 1) The best I.C.E. is 18% efficient, 20% on a good day. 2) The process of brute force electrolysys today has been pushed to about 85% Faraday. Note: Based on the caloric energy available from burning Hydrogen, by using Faraday's "Law" to translate from electrical energy it is estimated that 100% efficient hydrogen electrolysis is achieved by creating somewhere between 5.5-7.5 milliliters of gas per minute per watt of energy consumed. Members of our research group have run the numbers several ways which all seem to point to around 7.0 m/m/w or mmw for short. Many of our cells have operated as high as 6mmw or roughly 85% efficient 3) The product of electrolysis is HHO which has it's own energy value, up to 85% of what we put in. If all we considered was the return of energy value when we inject the HHO as a suppliment to gasoline, then yes; Conservation of energy applies. HOWEVER! HHO as an additive does more than return 80% of the energy we put in to create it. It's properties enhance the slow burning gasoline, speeding up the rate of combustion, causing much more of the total combustion process to be translated into mechanical energy rather than being lost as waste heat out the tail pipe, raising the efficiency of the total system. Returning to the simple math... 4) Let's say we're able to translate just 10% more of the total system energy to mechanical energy. We have still not violated conservation of energy, only raised the total system efficiency to 28%. But that's an increase of 55%!!! Now deduct the energy loss of 15% to create the HHO that made this possible and you still end up with a total net gain of 40%! This is not rocket science. It's simple math. And it works. The reality is some are getting even more, up to 35% mechanical efficiency, 94% gain, -15% to create the HHO, 79% total net gain. That's 54 MPG on a car that started out at 30. People are doing this. It is working. The move is on and there is no stopping it.

Gas Prices Killing You???

UPDATE: I have been working the bugs out of our hydrogen system on the Ford Escort. Just this last Thursday morning I finished making modifications and since then everything has been working well. The system automatically pumps water in and automatically drains water from the water trap while on the road. The car is running smoothly and has a lot of power. We will soon start building kits and will continue to test our designs. Recently, I had to ask myself what is gasoline? Gasoline is a blend of hydrocarbons C11H24 - C7H16. So, gasoline is just hydrogen with molecular bonds to carbon atoms and it produces about an equal amount of water as it burns. Hydrogen is clean burning because it does not have any carbon in it and it only produces water vapor when it burns. I have been concerned about the effects of water vapor on the engine and exhaust system however every hydrocarbon fuel that we burn already produces water vapor and unburned hydrocarbon emissions. So, I have stopped worrying and continue to drive 370 miles each week with the hydrogen generators turned on. I have also discovered that sugar has everything that we need to make gasoline and other hydrocarbons like propane C3H8, Butane C4H10, or hexane C6H12. Vinegar is C2H4O2 but remove the oxygen and you get C2H4 which is highly combustable Ethylene gas. It is all a chemistry problem with fantastic results that can power our cars when oil runs out. Well, that is the update. Thanks for watching my videos and keep watching for my next mad science experiment. Here is a way to beat the ever growing prices of fossil fuels. This video originates at: http://www.livevideo.com/byte312

http://rikardoli.centemax.hop.clickbank.net/?tid=G5Y6XTJ2 Did you know that you can convert your car to a water-burning car? You can run your car on water, supplemental to gasoline, to increase your car's fuel efficiency and reduce your fuel costs significantly. Works on gas or diesel powered cars, vans, trucks, and SUVs. (Not tested on hybrids) Your car will become at least 40% more fuel efficient and produce cleaner emissions. Convert your car for the lowest price. Similar conversion kits cost up to 0 and up! Works with plain tap water. No need for distilled water or special water additives! We've simplified the process. The steps are easy, and the materials are affordable. Our easy conversion guide will show you how to use electricity from your car's battery to separate water into a gas called HHO (2 Hydrogen + 1 Oxygen). HHO, also called Brown's Gas or Hydroxy, burns smoothly and provides significant energy - while the end product is just H2O! HHO provides the atomic power of Hydrogen, while maintaining the stability of water. http://rikardoli.centemax.hop.clickbank.net/?tid=G5Y6XTJ2
Hydrolysis - new reactor

A "reactor" I made from (not so pure) stainless steel plates - sort of "strainers", the ones used to prevent objeccts falling into the sink's drain. Water is from de-humidifier (a little bit of baking soda is added as electrolyte). There are 8 plates, with holes on the surface (to allow the gas flow). I know that anything you put in the water as electrolyte releases byproducts, but without a "resonator" ("pulsing" electronic device) it's difficult to acheive HHo gas from water by DC without using A LOT of power - and I'm no rocket sientist with electronics... I made this video only to demonstrate to a friend how drilled plates worked. No measurements, no goals, no calculations on it.
