UPDATE: I have been working the bugs out of our hydrogen system on the Ford Escort. Just this last Thursday morning I finished making modifications and since then everything has been working well. The system automatically pumps water in and automatically drains water from the water trap while on the road. The car is running smoothly and has a lot of power. We will soon start building kits and will continue to test our designs. Recently, I had to ask myself what is gasoline? Gasoline is a blend of hydrocarbons C11H24 - C7H16. So, gasoline is just hydrogen with molecular bonds to carbon atoms and it produces about an equal amount of water as it burns. Hydrogen is clean burning because it does not have any carbon in it and it only produces water vapor when it burns. I have been concerned about the effects of water vapor on the engine and exhaust system however every hydrocarbon fuel that we burn already produces water vapor and unburned hydrocarbon emissions. So, I have stopped worrying and continue to drive 370 miles each week with the hydrogen generators turned on. I have also discovered that sugar has everything that we need to make gasoline and other hydrocarbons like propane C3H8, Butane C4H10, or hexane C6H12. Vinegar is C2H4O2 but remove the oxygen and you get C2H4 which is highly combustable Ethylene gas. It is all a chemistry problem with fantastic results that can power our cars when oil runs out. Southwest Airlines Co. has signed a multiyear agreement to use an environmentally friendly engine-washing system in an effort to save on fuel and cut carbon emissions. The Dallas-based carrier is using the EcoPower system offered by East Hartford, Conn.-based flight technology firm Pratt & Whitney Global Service Partners. Terms of the deal weren't disclosed, but Pratt & Whitney said Southwest's annual fuel-cost savings could exceed million. The airline also stands to cut 135 million pounds of carbon dioxide emissions annually as a result. The arrangement with Pratt & Whitney comes as Southwest, along with the rest of the airline industry, faces record-high fuel prices that have led many to trim capacity and levy fees on travelers. Southwest in the first quarter reported a 63 percent drop in profit to million, partially driven by a 34 percent hike in fuel and oil costs compared with the same period of 2007. Southwest said it is performing regular washes at airports in Orlando, Fla., and Oakland, Calif., where Pratt & Whitney has established new service centers. The EcoPower equipment uses a closed-loop system with atomized water to wash aircraft engines, avoiding contaminant runoff, Pratt & Whitney said. It took around 3 weeks to make and it cost around 0AU to make (including wood, hardware, paint, strings, etc...) Our replica sounds just like a real Gibson Les Paul. The guitar now has a black pickguard on and we have written "les paul" in the same style as an original on the head... it looks much better. The plans used to make the template was from www.stewmac.com The body and neck is made of Honduras Mahogany. The archtop (face) of the guitar is made of Birds-eye Maple. A thin layer of ebony was attached to the Head. Paint and Varnish: The laquer used was "Rustin's Plastic Coating" from the UK. (see their website) With this laquer, it is possible to biuld up many layers in a short space of time and it can be polished to a very high quality finish. The paint job was acheived by adding various coloured dyes to the varnish and spraying different coloured layers onto the guitar. Instead of rubbing tung oil onto the fretboard, we used orange oil as it was avaliable and it smells better.
