Then you will see the savings for what they really are. And I’m not saying you have to be an accountant to save money either. I’m just saying that if you don’t see the savings, you might think they are not there when they really are.

You could carpool. That would require you to do a lot of scheduling and coordination. Hopefully, you are good with adding because you will have to equally divide the price of the gas between all of the riders. You will also have to make sure that either your car or the person’s car you’re riding in is in good working condition. Otherwise, you could be putting yourself or the other passengers in a lot of danger.

How a hybrid car will help you get more control of your wallet

Gas goes up and gas goes down. And the cycle just seems to go on and on without giving us much relief at all. But if you really take the time to think about it, it’s not the situation, but how you think about the situation that counts. So don’t get sad. Get glad, and pay close attention to the television commercials that talk about hybrid cars.

Who worked those forty hours? You did. So make sure you have something to show for it for a chance. A hybrid car is a really nice car to have. And it will be a real help to your bank account. Your wife and kids who are in college will love you more. So what are you waiting for? Buy a hybrid car so you can go around thinking, “money cometh.”

Magnetic hybrid motorbike unveiled in Japan

A Japanese vehicle manufacturer unveiled the prototype of a new electric motorbike carrying a hybrid magnetic motor, which can run almost noiselessly up to 180 kilometres (112 miles) on one charge. Tokyo-based Axle Corporation says that the battery of the next-generation electric vehicle motorbike can be charged at home, in the same way as a cellular phone. It takes a little over 6 hours to fully charge the battery, and the vehicle's maximum speed is capable of reaching 150 kilometres per hour (93 miles per hour). The company says the futuristic motorbike enjoys high energy efficiency thanks to a state-of-the-art magnetic motor which is a hybrid between a electromagnet and a permanent magnet. The new motor, called SUMO, short for "super motor," is housed inside the bike's rear wheel. The manufacture says the new motor is seven-times more cost efficient than gas-powered scooters. Daisuke Ito, a professional racer who test rode the EV-X7 prototype, said it could potentially replace machines we now see in motor races. This is quite interesting using what they call HH2 gas, this company is working on using water to power cars or weld things. Currently they have a test vehicle which runs as a hybrid with water and fuel but they say they can run exclusively on water alone... While the technology may not be as unique or breakthrough as the reporter and company spokesman claim (it seems to be based on an electrolytic process commonly known as "Brown's Gas."), it's still a great story to watch, and then do some fun follow-up research on. I wish there was some more info about this but for now this video will do. Hopefully we can see this technology in service sooner then later.

This past Thursday, the Porsche 918 Spyder Hybrid made its driving debut on a closed road in Monterey California, just days prior to its appearance at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance. After being shipped over from Germany by plane, engineers handed the keys of the new 918 Spyder Hybrid to Porsche AG Design Chief Michael Mauer. The car drove under its own power which comes from the mid mounted 3.4 liter V8 out of the RS Spyder as well as in all electric mode which powers just the front wheels. The 918 Spyder prototype combines high-tech racing features and electro-mobility to offer a fascinating range of qualities: An emission level of just 70 grams CO2 per kilometre on fuel consumption of three litres/100 kilometres (equal to 94 mpg imp) truly outstanding even for an ultra-compact city car, on the one hand, combined with the performance of a super sports car and acceleration from a standstill to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just under 3.2 seconds, top speed of 320 km/h (198 mph) plus, and a lap time on the Nordschleife of Nürburgring in less than 7:30 minutes, faster than even the Porsche Carrera GT, on the other.

This is a run-up of my home built turbocharger turbojet engine. Long, but maybe of some interest to other engine builders. It is quite old now and dated somewhat and I now know far more about jet engines than I did then. Please go easy on me guys... It is my first video! I would like to issue a challenge to all fellow Do it Yourself Turbojet engine builders and brushless electric R/C park flyer hobbiests/manufacturers out there. Please comment and discuss the feasibility of mounting a small "outrunner" style permanent magnet brushless electric motor to the compressor side of this and similar engines. I realize that shaft harmonics and bearing limitations will play a very significant role in whether or not such a motor/generator combination would hang together at 140000 RPM or more. Of course, associated power electronics with the ability to switch from starter motor to DC generator would need to be designed as well to efficiently (relatively speaking) produce electricity at these ultra high speeds. Such a device would mimic some of the hybrid turbocharger or "electrically assisted turbochargers" that have been developed by Garrett and others in recent years. These have been designed, developed and built to reduce "turbo lag" and recover wasted energy in the form of electricity with the intention of supplementing the charging system in vehicles. I was thoroughly underwhelmed by BMW's latest concept on show at the Auckland Museum today. It has similar hybrid technology but a lower all-electric range than a Chevrolet Volt, yet it costs 0000 USD more. Or think of it as an all-electric Tesla Roadster, but with less range, less power, less acceleration, less style, less reliability - but with higher emissions, and at twice the price. The styling is a personal thing, but I found it too weird to gain mass-acceptance. Perhaps thankfully, the finished product will look completely different. Still, God only knows what market this car is aimed at. Even so, by 2014 (when this vehicle is ready for production) the competition will have soared ahead with more practical, long-range all-electric vehicles. For example, the Tesla Model S is a visual masterpiece with an all electric range of 300 miles (482 kilometres) - and full-scale production starts in August 2012. You'd better think fast BMW.
