HHO gas kits produce hydroxy gas or browns gas through a process called electrolysis. The HHO fuel cell is filled with water and a catalyst such as baking soda or bread soda added to the water helps produce the gas when electrical current is produced. HHO generators have been used for several decades experimentally on diesel and gasoline burning engines.

There are some free HHO plans floating around but there are a few crucial things they miss including the cheaper plans.
On some engines you may have to deal with an oxygen sensor.
This sensor is there to help create an ideal air fuel mixture. If you do not add this one item then you will never really see increased gas mileage on some engines. In fact what you may see is a decrease in mileage and a rough running engine. Many cheap or free HHO plans miss this item.

Fuel additives help keep and engine free of carbon buildup but may cost several dollars per treatment. HHO generators when installed on a car or truck should do this continually.
The gas helps keep the engine clean and deposits from forming. When you have fewer carbon buildups the engine should run cooler and more efficiently.

The major benefits of HHO gas is it not only increases efficiency but because of an efficiency increase reduces emissions. This should lead to less pollution. Because of increased engine efficiency you could see increased horse power and many even notice a quieter engine. When you research the technology the typical increase in mileage is about 15 to 40 percent. On some vehicles some are seeing upwards of 100 percent.

What does HHO fuel cell plans have to do with you. Well a fuel cell can be made for about 60 to 100 dollars. You can replicate the HHO fuel cell for other cars and trucks or for larger engines. You also get the information you need to deal with engines that need compensation when dealing with the oxygen sensor. The major benefit is increased MPG’s.

Now HHO gas devices may not be for you. Some people are willing to spend hundreds even thousands of dollars for installed HHO gas devices. Home made HHO fuel cells can be made and installed as a day project by you typical handy person. I have to stress the following points again. Free HHO plans do not always give you all the information you need. The best HHO plans will give you step by step instructions with photos on how to install your home made HHO fuel cells.

A "reactor" I made from (not so pure) stainless steel plates - sort of "strainers", the ones used to prevent objeccts falling into the sink's drain. Water is from de-humidifier (a little bit of baking soda is added as electrolyte). There are 8 plates, with holes on the surface (to allow the gas flow). I know that anything you put in the water as electrolyte releases byproducts, but without a "resonator" ("pulsing" electronic device) it's difficult to acheive hho gas from water by DC without using A LOT of power - and I'm no rocket sientist with electronics... I made this video only to demonstrate to a friend how drilled plates worked. No measurements, no goals, no calculations on it.

The spiral is handmade and absorbs about 32 amps (12 volts) and when I have the casing active it goes to 44 amps but the production remains comparable to the 32 amps: I am realizing that good building skills and equipment are a nice thing to have, but in hydroxy production once the cell is perfect unless you are connecting it to a sofisticated fine tuned electronically advanced electric system you go nearly nowhere, you remain stock. So now I will learn as much as I possibly can in order to build an optimized cell and then I will go about hooking it up to the best electronical solutions I can find and balance the two tings together. These are the first hydrogen cells we made last year. We started with the Joe Cell concept and modified it for Electrolysis. The 4 parts of this video show you the inner works of the gas production. You will see, from a birds eye view, the gas being produced in a solid stainless steel container; one that can be put under a strong vaccum. At startup, notice that the gas is being produced in the center of the cell. It then starts producing in adjacent tubes as current moves towards the positive outer tube. For this to happen, your tubes need to be properly aligned North and South. That is, the tops of each tube must be magnetic North, and the bottoms must be magnetic South (the tubes contain "some" magnetism. Think of the tube as a magnet. If your alignment is off on a tube, there will be little to no gas production around that tube. You can test your tubes for N & S by putting a needle on a thread and magnetizing the tip of the needle (N or S). Hang the thread over the tube, just barely clearing the surface, and rock each end of the tube under the needle. It will start to swing as you rock. One end will swing more than the other. When our 12 volt DC power source is connected to the cell, the electrical pressure causes current to flow from one tube to another; negative to positive. A magnetic field is created around the tubes. You can see it drawing the tiny bubbles down towards the bottom of the cell. They then cycle back to the top, between the tubes. The outside tube has the most influence on the bubbles moving in a downward direction. The magnetic flux movement is from North to South on the outside and South to North on the inside of the tubes. Electrolysis takes place on the surface of the tubes. Therefore, surface area on the tubes plays a part in the quantity of HHO that can be produced. When DC voltage is applied to the tubes it causes a chemical reaction in the water molecules. The water molecules H+ ions become attracted to the Negative Cathode in the cell, and OH- ions become attracted to the Positive Anode. The byproduct is HH gas on the Cathode tube and O gas on the Anode tube. In other words, the release of the positive hydrogen and negative oxygen gas. If you could get down to eye level with the waters surface, you would see tiny bubbles jumping out of the water and popping. Looks similar to those caused by pouring carbonated water.
