Ford’s New Taurus Is Turning Heads
Forget your grandma’s old sedan: The all-new Ford Taurus is now cool to drive again! The 2011 Ford Taurus is clearly the most innovative new car coming out this year. Willis Ford is Smyrna’s home for New Ford and Used Ford near Wilmington and has a wide array of Taurus’ in all kinds of trim levels. The SE model starts at just over $25k, making this car easy to own for buyers of all income levels, just as Henry Ford envisioned when he founded the company over 70 years ago. Under the hood the SE is running a 3.5 liter V6 and a six-speed automatic transmission, the Taurus gets up to 28 MPG on the highway; Pretty incredible fuel economy for a 4 door sedan that bolts around like a race car.
Jumping up the price scale to the SEL and Limited variants enhances the plushness of the interior. For $3,000-$5,000 more than the SE, these Taurus versions allow drivers to ride on heated leather seats, embrace the comfort of paddle select shifters and listen to SIRIUS satellite radio.
Also included in the upgraded models are backup sensors, a rear facing bumper camera and indirect cockpit lighting. For the tech-savvy drivers Ford’s exclusive SYNC with voice-activated communications and entertainment system.
Getting out of the typical sedan style, Ford unleashes its Taurus SHO. This performance version has all of the features drivers expect from a muscle car, especially under the hood. The SHO’s 3.5 liter EcoBoost motor can burn rubber on the road and yet delivers a respectable 25 miles per gallon. A true dual exhaust system helps the SHO breathe and the upgraded AWD system guarantees safe driving in any extremes. This Taurus comes equipped with a race inspired suspension and rear spoiler that enables the SHO to drive like a well-tuned sports car. All that high speed cornering should not be dangerous at night. The SHO comes standard with High-Intensity Discharge headlamps that keep the road in view even in bad weather.
From the entry level SE all the way up to the fiercesome SHO, the 2011 Ford Taurus is a great value and great fun to drive.
